Cersaie and baroque tendencies

Goes on, in many articles, the reportage of what we have seen at Cersaie 2014 about two months ago; each exhibition, as in fashion or food, for example, dictate trends, and we try to bring them back to share them with those who could not be present on site, all the news from the bathroom industry.

Evergreen flaminia

In this article, in spite of the widespread design tendency of a minimalist bathroom, essential, there are some examples of products in Baroque style, specifically we want to talk about bathtubs designed with a retro character.
In a previous article we described the characteristics of extra large bathtubs, comfortable to use even in two and perfect for enjoying rare moments of relaxation at home: however, now it is the turn of the Baroque bathtubs.
But how do you characterize in detail bathtubs marked with this style?

Baroque is an artistic movement/ culture developed during the seventeenth century in Italy: it is characterized by the tendency to the creation of objects, works of art, buildings all share a style redundant gorgeous at times excessive.
Applied furnishings, the Baroque is manifested by the presence of smooth flowing lines with inserts, friezes and applications gilded wood and tissues are characterized by being smart, engaging, and deliberately overabundant.

But let's get back to the bathtubs and the characteristics that distinguish them; below we describe some of the examples that we have seen. They have some aspects that are similar: they are freestanding bathtubs, positioned at the center of the bathroom, with curved and soft edges, they are often lifted from the ground thanks to the presence of feet that refer to animal paws.
Here are a few.

Baroque bathtubs

The choices you can make when you want to give your bathroom a Baroque spa, are two: if you are passionate about the retro style, you can configure all the bathroom in this style, then choosing finishes and bathroom fixtures in a classic style; otherwise you can create a simple bathroom with a combination of contemporary style with a touch of elegance given by the Baroque freestanding bathtub.

Evergreen Flaminia

For the first solution, and so for the realization of a very sinuous bathroom, you can rely on the line Evergreen by Flaminia, which makes bathroom fixtures and accessories very refined: the company offers Evergreen 170, Bathtub in Crystal Tech with feet in brass and chrome, gold, bronze or white, with tap pool floor with shower and diverter, to match the collections EFI or Phidias. It is a series of bathroom fixtures characterized by soft and rounded shapes: washbasin on pedestal, semi-recessed and consoles, classic toilet and bidet.

Gruppo Treesse The Gruppo Treesse dedicated an entire line to the classic bathtubs in order to meet the needs of everyone at the show were presented two products style, or Grande Dame and Grand Soleil bathtubs with soft lines, respectively, with support legs and single stand, both designed by Paul Parea and with dimensions of 185 x 85 x 75 cm in height.
Grande Dame is a tub with metal feet and fittings are available in plain gold, chrome, bronze or white; Grand Soleil, however, is composed of a single body marked at the base with classic-style decor.

And now we come to a reworking of the retro style, and could only be Antonio Lupi the author of this revision: the bathtub Suite harks back to the classic rules but tries to adapt to current trends and market demands, through a different processing of the forms and materials used.

Suite Antonio Lupi It is, in fact, an oval tub with soft, flowing lines, and support feet, but designed in a very simple style and with the use of Cristalplant, totally new material consisting of minerals and resin.
The freestanding tub measures 192 x 90 x 78 cm in height and is fitted with drain exhaust system pressure and siphon hose.

This seems to be the right balance between a too showy or too minimalist bathtub.

Regardless of your choice, we remind you that to install a freestanding bathtub, it is necessary to switch the pipes in the floor that will allow the incoming hot and cold water and discharge of waste water.
