This is his story: During a visit to Stefano Seletti in his office in Viadana, Mantova, a curious object resting on his desk drew my attention. The scale model of the island of Manhattan that had been given by a friend still had no particular function, but he immediately turned in me the idea to create an object that played with the proportions of the surreal metropolis in miniature.

This is how was born Inception, a true scale model of Manhattan that turns into a dish rack or in a desk organizer, made entirely in colored silicone. The creation was then presented during the New York Design Week and now is part of the catalog Seletti.

The designer told how the vision of the model has joined him in a scene of the film by Christopher Nolan (Inception, 2010), which shows the city of New York in an unconventional way, as if at some point was bending over itself, almost like rubber.

This scene has led to the creation of the object, which as mentioned has multiple uses, from the kitchen to the office.
