How to grow herbs on the balcony or indoor

Among the most common and cultivated herbs even in confined spaces, there are basil, mint, thyme, oregano, marjoram, sage and lemon balm. These can be planted in both modern containers, both in simple flower pot saucers or decorative vases, according to taste and space.
The plants purchased at the green department in supermarkets can be placed in jars perforated at the bottom, filled with river sand, thin and clean, peat and topsoil, in order to create the right mix of drainage that avoids risky stagnation.
Herbs should be watered thoroughly.

When pouring the water, not on the leaves, but on the roots, so that they do not get wet, you must see the water almost out of the vase. Especially the first watering must be abundant, then are gradually thinned out. Attentive to certain varieties such as rosemary, which doesn't like to be watered too often.

As for the climate, in areas with mild climate, the herbs can easily be grown outdoors, even with the arrival of spring, either in pots or in the ground.
During the summer, when the temperature rises above 27 to 30 degrees, it is good that the plants are placed in areas protected from the direct rays of the sun of the hottest hours. The watering, in this case, even when it comes to plants on balcony, should be daily and must be done in the hours of sunset, when the thermal shock is less and the ground releases the heat gained during the day.

Watch out for excesses. The leaves can burn or dry for too much water. This means that the roots are rotting. Better then change jar, take larger and reduce the frequency of watering.
